Garden Club of America has funded more than 1400 scholars since the Rome Prize Fellowship in Landscape Architecture was established in 1928. Twenty-seven merit-based scholarships are offered. Fields of study include botany, coastal wetlands studies, conservation and ecological restoration, desert studies, garden history and design, horticulture, international work and study, landscape architecture, native bird habitat, pollinator research, summer environmental study, and urban forestry. The Garden Club of Santa Barbara began an endowment fund for a scholarship in 1995 in partnership with The Santa Barbara Scholarship Foundation. We welcome local applicants who wish to study landscape architecture, conservation, environmental sciences and related fields, as well as botany and horticulture. Since its inception, twenty-three scholarships have been awarded totaling $45,400. |
